Where Do I Start When Preparing For My General Education?
Where Do I Start When Preparing For My General Education? When students have completed their Global History and Geography, they will be in a better position to decide what courses they would like to take. But many people ask, 'Where do I start? How do I decide?'It is a good idea to think about the type of student you are before deciding on a course or two. For example, if you are reading this online you probably have a history degree. For those students who don't, you might consider a college class or a history department's website, such as Yale University's. Each department has its own overview of Global History and Geography, from the basics of Global History to one or more specific topics. Just keep in mind that Global History and Geography is a broad topic, encompassing many subjects, many academic disciplines, and many global events. At the other end of the spectrum, students with just a high school education can be interested in geography. And they don't necessarily need to choose a subject such as global history and geography, or geography and human geography. One can opt for a course in general human geography, or in an AP Human Geography course. The two are not mutually exclusive, and each has its place. But if a student takes a course in global history and geography, he or she can later go on to study history, especially for college credit. However, because the geography courses take place in a different time period, the student can then take history and Human Geography. The timing is important, too. The last thing any student wants is to have to read on a topic that is not relevant to his or her time frame. Instead, the history student should study history and geography together, and then one of the two can make the choice to study the topic individually. In summary, Global History and Geography is a broad topic, one that encompasses many topics, many academic disciplines, and many global events. The answer to the question of where to start is to think abo ut which subject will best fit you. Students must be familiar with the subjects that compose this topic, though, before they can understand and analyze it.
